5) Make Mistakes
“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”
Never be afraid of making a mistake. A mistake is not a failure. Mistakes can make you better, smarter and faster, if you utilize them properly. Discover the power of making mistakes. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, if you want to succeed, triple the amount of mistakes that you make.
6) Live in the Moment
“I never think of the future - it comes soon enough.”
The only way to properly address your future is to be as present as possible “in the present.”
You cannot “presently” change yesterday or tomorrow, so it’s of supreme importance that you dedicate all of your efforts to “right now.” It’s the only time that matters, it’s the only time there is.
7) Create Value
“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."
Don’t waste your time trying to be successful, spend your time creating value. If you’re valuable, then you will attract success.
Discover the talents and gifts that you possess, learn how to offer those talents and gifts in a way that most benefits others.
Labor to be valuable and success will chase you down.
8) Don’t Expect Different Results
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
You can’t keep doing the same thing everyday and expect different results. In other words, you can’t keep doing the same workout routine and expect to look differently.
In order for your life to change, you must change, to the degree that you change your actions and your thinking is to the degree that your life will change.
9) Knowledge Comes From Experience
“Information is not knowledge. The only source of knowledge is experience.”
Knowledge comes from experience. You can discuss a task, but discussion will only give you a philosophical understanding of it; you must experience the task first hand to “know it.” What’s the lesson? Get experience! Don’t spend your time hiding behind speculative information, go out there and do it, and you will have gained priceless knowledge.

Manuel Castells, gran sociólogo español, habla con Iñaki Gabilondo acerca de la actual crisis económica y la proyección de futuro que puede tener ésta. Además habla sobre el papel de los emprendedores en la sociedad actualmente y nos pone el ejemplo del Know-how en Silicon Valley (USA).
Manuel Castells apuesta por la innovación y por alentar a los emprendedores. Una de las fórmulas que propone es la realización de proyectos entre Universidad - Centros de Innovación - Empresas. ;) (La innovación con PBL hacia la NBIC)

CREATIVIDAD E INNOVACIÓN: APRENDIENDO A PENSAR! CON PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING (PBL)
"¿Por qué el sistema educativo es lineal? ¿Por qué nos enseñan a escuchar y nos evalúan si somos capaces de responder las preguntas al tema que nos dictaron? ¿Hay otras formas de aprender? ¿Es el sistema tradicional educativo una barrera a la creatividad y la innovación? ¿Son los innovadores los marginados y los inadaptados en las instituciones?"
Todas estas preguntas, y alguna que otra mas, las he leído últimamente en diversos medios.... artículos, blogs, foros, libros, tesis doctorales.... Los tiempos están cambiando, y quizás ahora que la creatividad emerge como una solución ante la crisis, de cara a aprovechar las oportunidades en los mercados, las instituciones educativas consideren que la innovación viene de la mano de la creatividad y que, para ello, se han de considerar otras formas (no lineales) de aprendizaje.
En ocasiones, para innovar, no es necesario "inventar la rueda", sino simplemente saber mirar lo que siempre ha estado ahí. A veces, conectando recursos, logramos un resultado mucho mayor que si hubiésemos utilizado solo lo que era previsible.
En los años sesenta, en Canadá, en la escuela de Medicina de McMaster, y en Estados Unidos, en la escuela de medicina de la Universidad de Case Western Reserve, surge un nuevo método de aprendizaje: el Problem-based learning (PBL) ó Aprendizaje Basado en Problemas (APB). Este método consiste en que un grupo de estudiantes, guiados por un profesor pero actuando de forma autónoma, experimenten de forma cooperativa la identificación y resolución de un problema utilizando diferentes disciplinas e integrando el conocimiento adquirido como un aprendizaje experiencial.
Las principales diferencias de este método respecto al aprendizaje tradicional reside en que mientras éste último sigue un proceso lineal donde el profesor es el eje en la definición de las necesidades del aprendizaje y del conocimiento, iniciando un discurso y finalizando en unas conclusiones, en el Aprendizaje Basado en Problemas, el alumno se erige en la pieza central del proceso de adquisición de conocimiento, actuando de forma natural junto a otros alumnos que toman relevancia para aprender a descubrir cuáles son los componentes del problema y a buscar soluciones creativas al mismo. Esta nueva forma de aprender supone una ruptura con los métodos tradicionales y facilita básicamente tres cosas: la cooperación, convertir el conocimiento en experiencia y desarrollar la creatividad y la innovación.
Actualmente este modelo está ampliamente desarrollado en muchas de las principales universidades y escuelas de negocio del mundo. Algunos ejemplos los he encontrado principalmente en dos países: Dinamarca (Universidad de Aalborg) y Estados Unidos.
